Duties. A. To perform the usual duties pertaining to the office of Inspector of Nuisances in an urban district in England and in addition the supervision of the work of the Scavenging and Conservancy contracts within such district as he may be placed in immediate charge of.

B. He will at all times be required to carry out the instructions of the Medical Officer of Health or such other officer as the Sanitary Board may direct.

Qualifications. A. He should hold a certificate from the Sanitary Inspector Institute.

B. He should have had at least 2 years' experience as Inspector of Nuisances.

C. He should be a man under 30 years of age and unmarried.

D. Other things being equal, preference should be given to a man who can write legibly and rapidly.

2. Salary: $720 a year rising to $960 a year in five years.

Lodging allowance $240 a year. Travelling allowance for one month in summer.

3. Staff salary during 20 voyages.

The present rate of exchange is $1 = 2s 1/2d.
